She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from University of Macedonia Thessaloniki, Greece, a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Northwestern University, Evanston Illinois, and an NLP Master Practitioner Certification from ANLP.

Her Background
She started playing the violin at the age of 6. She graduated from “Synchrono Conservatory of Thessaloniki” and she got her Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from the Department of Music Science and Art, University of Macedonia Thessaloniki, Greece. She continued her studies in USA under a Fulbright Scholarship. She holds a  Master’s Degree in Music Education from Northwestern University of Evanston Illinois, where she studied and taught violin and general music. As soon as she returned to Greece, she taught violin and general music in elementary and secondary education and lectured in several University Courses. She has attended a great number of seminars and conferences for violin performance and music education.

All these years she performs a lot as a soloist, as a member of chamber music ensembles and orchestras in all kinds of venues and events, in Greece, Europe and USA.
Apart from the classical music that she has studied and loves, she always like to experiment with other kinds of music. At some point of her life she discovered Astor Piazzola and tango music. It was love at first site! She co-founded and performed for over 15 years with the tango quintet “Locos De Atar” in concerts and milongas all over Greece.
For Aira music has no boundaries. On August 2013 she joined STORM String Quartet; a band that has come to change the rules of a classical quartet. They perform arrangements and compositions of all kinds of music, from classical, to rock, pop, metal, Greek folk, electronic and so much more, in a very dynamic, skillful and passionate way; a STORM way! Their amazing interaction with their audience makes their shows a true “live experience”. Their performances in Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Labeaume and Musiques Festival France, Rock on Festival, Apollon Theatre, Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall, are only some of their milestones.

“Violin is my way of expression. It has been there for me in times of happiness, but also, such a valuable helper  in times of deep sorrow and pain… I can’t imagine my life without it. I think I will never stop playing…

She also is a recording violinist and has participated in recordings of numerus Greek composers.

For over 15 years, she was a violin and general music teacher in elementary and secondary education. Working with children, gives her a very different way of seeing things and inspires her internal motivation and creativity. This year she is posted to the Department of Music Science and Art, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece, where she teaches Music Education, Early Childhood Music Education, and Music in Community and Therapy/ Health.

Aira believes so much in personal growth. Transformation, change and development can be achieved through it. If you want to change the world, you should change yourself first. On 2016 she came across NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), which changed the way of her thinking and acting, as well as her attitude towards life. Seeing all these benefits NLP gave her in combination to her previous knowledge and personal experience, she decided to help other musicians to overcome struggles and difficulties they may face during their lives in professional and personal matters, such as stage fright, career goals, time management, stage presence etc.

Her creative and restless spirit, led her to co-found 4aProem, an audiovisual production group, that is engaged to everything that includes sound, photography and video. Arrangements, compositions, recordings, sound editing and mixing,  videography, videoclips,  sound coverage of concerts and events, product photography etc., are only some of the group’s domains. (Please follow our new YouTube Channel 4aProem).
Since 2018 she belongs to the Corps of Volunteers Samaritans, Rescuers and Lifeguards of Red Cross in Thessaloniki Greece.
